What type of wine drinker are you?
So, what type of wine consumer are you? The 2005 study of 3,500 premium wine consumers found that there was no typical wine consumer but that they fell into six unique segments:
The Enthusiast, the consumers who are passionate about the entire wine experience from researching buying and sharing wine with friends.
The Image Seeker, who feel sophisticated on one hand and adventurous and trendy on the other. They are just as likely to buy wines with sophisticated labels as well as fun ones.
The Savvy Shopper, who seek great wines at a great price and believe that good wine doesn't have to cost a lot of money.
The Traditionalist, who like wines made by well known wineries who have been around making good wine for a long time.
The Satisfied Sipper, who looks for sensible choices to serve to family and friends.
And finally, The Overwhelmed, who make up the largest group at 23% who find shopping for wine a complex and worry about making a mistake. If you fall into the "overrwhelmed" category, sign up for our hoilday event series offered on Sundays.
